Question about LIFE had lingered through many generations. And each one of them may, or would have surely envisioned the possibilities of what?,how?,why? These questions have always tested the greatest minds in different areas of society such as science, philosophy and theology. Even though the questions were never being precipitated in the same order every time, we are going to initiate our discussion from possibility of What is Life?.
Definition Of Life (in a nutshell)
Firstly, as a computer scientist, we can try defining a computation value to the function of life. Now, we know that it will not be a simple function definition rather a composite one. Let us start with outer explanation of the function. When we consider the definition of such an exterior function we are not considering co-relational aspects. Such aspects are considered in the detailed explanation following the same.

How can we define this function:
First definition: f(x) = c*f(x-1) | if x=0 is basically f(0) you can call it is as an organism according to biology. If f(x) was defined for a chemical compound or an element, the f(0) would be defined as an "atom"(Note: Modern theories state the presence of sub-atomic particles such as electrons, neutrons, protons.). Such a function definition is very much known in the various fields of natural science. Where c is an exponential constant for growth.
Most computer scientists know that the above function definition is explaining the concept of a famous programming paradigm which is "recursion".
For those people who don't know recursion:
Think about the vegetable which we are familiar of 'onion'
As you see the onion skin goes deeper and deeper when you peel the skin off. It is the same with recursion. If you are familiar with fractal objects then, you will know what I am all about.
Now back to the topic:
Life started of as a simple ameobatic creature and which slowly grown into multi-cellular organisms. How can one deduce such a fact?
As written in the mathematical equation above, you can observe for the fact that, f(x) is an Organism where, x = 0 is considered to be atomic or unicellular organism. Value x defines the count or factor of cells existent in the organism.
Growth is always considered as a simple function as explained above. The growth always takes an Exponential Functional equivalence as in the variable c in the above equation. Growth not only makes a system to mature but also, makes it functionally viable and unique.
Now the question would be how can a factor of uniqueness be created in such an organism?
The function f(x) is not some function but, it's base function f(0) defines the uniqueness to the whole living being. Such a function defines a lot of factors in regard to life such as features, variations, adaptiveness, etc,.
Such a discussion on factor of feature requires ample time and space. I believe we would rather "live to fight for another day"...
